Los Robles Healthcare: 20 Years in the Making
Los Robles Healthcare was founded in 2000 by an RN, Joan Plassmeyer, who believed that if you take a small group of compassionate and committed people, you can make a difference in the community. Joan’s initial agency, a home health focused agency, was started in the city of Thousand Oaks, and eventually grew to cover all of Ventura County, as well as the northern half of Los Angeles County.
While Joan’s efforts were blossoming in Ventura County and beyond, professionals such as Mehreen Shah, who had started Paramount Home Health Care and Hospice to serve both San Diego and Riverside counties, were forging ahead with a similar mindset.
This period also coincided with Cody Campbell and Steve Burningham launching their own home health and hospice efforts in Northern California under the Impact Healthcare umbrella. Once Cody and Steve were able to establish a foothold with their Northern California efforts, they started in on their search to make inroads in Southern California.
After scouring the Southern California region for a flagship agency to build a united brand around, Cody and Steve contacted Joan, and from there the three together embarked on a mission to cover all of Southern California to serve the needs of all the populated regions of the lower half of the state. Mehreen soon joined forces, and the Los Robles Healthcare name continued to grow.
Today, with Mike McConnelly serving as Los Robles Healthcare Managing Partner, and Nik Hulewsky serving as Los Robles Healthcare Regional President, the piecing together of the Southern California region continues, with more and more clinicians joining Los Robles Healthcare to serve communities in the following five counties: Los Angeles County; Orange County; Riverside County; San Diego County; and Ventura County.
The mission to provide clinical services that meet the emotional, spiritual, and physical needs of their patients and their patients’ families continues to this day. Los Robles Healthcare looks forward to growing its interdisciplinary team as it continues to deliver thorough and compassionate care to all of Southern California.
I would like to recognize Nanette, the LVN, and Daniel, the physical therapist. My son has MS. I’ve had a therapist in the past with another agency that said nothing could be done. Daniel said there were some things that could be done. Daniel was very informative, and I really appreciated his level of care.
I appreciate being able to speak with the nurses and being able to call the office at any hour to ask questions when needed.
Your nurses were very thorough and very friends. They were always patient in answering our families’ questions. The team was wonderful, and our family appreciates the care.
I heard about Los Robles Healthcare from Ventura Orthopedic, and your agency certainly lived up to expectation.
I appreciate the high level of care that was delivered at my home. Your entire staff was very professional. Each and every member of your team made me feel comfortable.
The attention to detail was fantastic — everyone from the team in the field (visiting nurses and therapists) to the team at the office.
